The overall objective of the NUDP is to contribute to eradicating poverty and achieving sustainable development in the Lao Northern Uplands. Its specific objectives are to achieve secured and improved livelihoods for the rural poor in selected areas of the Northern Uplands based on sustainable land and natural resource management and community driven development.
In the three provinces and nine districts targeted, the NUDP addresses its objectives through six thematic and three crosscutting components. The activities implemented at provincial and district level are under the responsibility of the District and Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Offices (DAFOs and PAFOs).
The Lot C technical assistance team (TAT) provides technical support for the implementation of three thematic components through the global strengthening of DAFOs and support in the implementation of specific activities.

Capacity of the expansion: 500 000 tons/year (billets). Turn-key contract worth USD 161 million realised by the company China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC - China).

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the implementation of Vietnam's five-year Socio-Economic Development Plan (SEDP, 2011-2015) through the further development of EU-Vietnam cooperation in sectors of strategic importance.

Support to the European Commission to improve the impact of the EIDHR (European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights) projects supporting civil society activities aiming at the abolition of the death penalty, by strengthening the Commission’s ability to draw on lessons learnt from past and ongoing interventions for future planning, programming and project identification.
Assessment of the effectiveness and relevance of the EIDHR funded projects in support of the implementation of the EU guidelines and policy on the death penalty.

The objective of the mission was to evaluate past and ongoing interventions in the field of Human Rights and Democratisation so that the EU Member States and the European Commission Delegations to the Philippines and Cambodia could improve their future planning, programming and practical follow-up in these fields.

Evaluation of the last 2 NEEDS (Network of Europeans for Electoral and Democracy support) projects for the EC and recommendations for the future project concerning the training of EU Electoral Observation Mission experts and observers, support and technical assistance to Domestic Observers Organizations (DO) and methodological support for EU EOMs.The assignment included drafting Terms of References for a future call for tender in the same field.

Audit of the technical and economic feasibility studies on the interconnection of gas transportation networks between the provinces of Sichuan and Hubei with respect to the fertiliser and petrochemical sectors (in association with Sofregaz).

Assistance to VTM for the supervision of the Lao Cai Cast Iron and Steel Plant Project, including: a sintering plant, a blast furnace, a steel plant and ancillary installations.
